Li’s journey, from his humble beginning of utter poverty in China to international stardom in ballet, demonstrates the importance of love and family; of passion, determination, perseverance, courage and hard work; of maximising opportunities in life and making dreams into reality. Inspiration and motivation are rare things in life, but both are essential to achieve excellence. Those who have read, heard or seen Li’s story are deeply touched. His experiences are real; his journey incredible; his story true. Accompanying Persons registration further includes attendance at Congress social events including the ‘Back to the Future’ Welcome Reception on Wednesday, 30 March, the Young Dentists Evening on Thursday, 31 March and Farewell Event on Sunday, 3 April 2011. Organized optional tours and activities are also part of the Accompanying Persons programme. These include a ‘Food Trail’ to the Sirromet Winery with Chef, Andrew Mirosh; the bizarre true tale of an early Brisbane family, brought to life through The Mayne Inheritance Tour; and a City Botanic Gardens Tour.
