News Bulletin : ADA News Bulletin April 2011
21 APRIL 2011 NEW LOOK LIBRARY SITE to be operational soon The ADA Library launched early in 2010 to provide members with online access to current and topical information from a variety of dental journals and professional library staff has proven to be a very useful and popular service. Due to its success in fulfilling the information needs of our members, the online Library service is being further enhanced to provide more resources and improved access. From the new library site members will soon be able to: • Have access to the physical collection of the Hardwick Memorial Library • Request books, CDs and DVDs within the collection which can be borrowed for an initial lending period of four weeks • Reserve books and renew loans online • Access full text articles from a number of journals available through the EBSCO Dentistry and Oral Sciences (DOSS) database • Request articles not available as full text • Access electronic books from the StatRef and DOSS databases • Search a variety of other databases The new Library site was demonstrated at the recent Australian Dental Congress held in Brisbane by library staff at the ADA stand where delegates had the opportunity to try out the new site and provide feedback. A trial version is available from the members’ website www.ada.org.au . Simply follow the links to the Library. If you need assistance in finding relevant information or experience any problems, the library staff are more than happy to help and can be contacted by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 02 8436 9960.
