12 NOVEMBER 2011 ADA Digital media Library ACCESS AVAiLABLE SOOn As a member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA) you will shortly have access to a new resource – the ADA Digital Media Library (DML). The DML is an online resource that features a comprehensive range of on-demand lectures, videos and audio recordings. The DML will be a convenient method of supplementing your hands-on clinical training with remote online learning from your home or practice. Members will have 24/7 access to all the online resources including all updates and newly published material. All of the on-demand lectures, videos and audio programs are original productions, made in Australia for the needs of Australian dentists. The DML will provide you with immediate access to 30 hours of video material. Each year, a minimum of a further 10 hours of video presentations will be produced. COnTInUInG PROfESSIOnAL dEvELOPMEnT (CPd) The DML also includes a CPD log which can assist you in tracking CPD hours. All time spent watching or listening to DML material will be automatically added to your individual CPD Log. This will provide a secure record of CPD hours accrued through this online resource. There is also as option to ‘Log Activities’ where any other time accrued toward your CPD, such as reading an article or attending a course, etc, can be added to the log and your progress tracked. In this way a centralised record of all CPD hours can be maintained in a printable report. “The dML will be a convenient method of supplementing your hands-on clinical training with...24/7 access to all the online resources...” IMPLEMEnTATIOn PROGRESS At this stage the DML system is undergoing rigorous stress testing to ensure that the performance and availability of the service will meet members’ expectations. Depending on the success of the stress testing it is expected that the service will be available in November/December 2011. Steve Thomlinson IT Projects Manager
